XM sims 2 hair won't show up on my game?

I seriously do everything right and it never shows up! This is so frustrating because I absolutley love the hair. I download hair from other websites and it works perfectly fine. Its only xm sims. I've tried both ways to do it. Putting it on your desktop and extracting or just opening the file and extracting it to the downloads folder. I know im doing the steps correctly. Anyone else have this problem? Ugh help please
